Sharing the Virtues of Tea Culture, Building Friendships Through Tea

The story of Wang De Chuan, our story, started in 1862 during the reign of Tongzhi Emperor of the Qing Dynasty. Our founder, Wang An Shang, crossed the strait from Jinjiang County in Fujian Province, China, and settled in Taiwan. He founded the first tea house in Tainan, the then-capital, in Southwest Taiwan. Inheriting over one hundred years of craftsmanship, passion for tea, and experience in tea business, we observe that there is a need to introduce a modern image and fresh way of appreciating Chinese tea culture for the future generations.

With elegant and contemporary interior design depicting company’s approach of Chinese literati, Wang De Chuan stores in Taiwan and beyond, offer a modern concept of tea house, while still preserving the essence of a traditional tea shop. We cordially welcome guests to visit and choose their favorite tea and teaware, or to simply have an enjoyable tea-tasting experience in the serene space of our shops. Our tea specialists have a keen taste for tea, and have traveled to many tea producing regions. As guests enjoy their cups of tea, our specialists would be delighted to share the tea knowledge they have gained.

Wang De Chuan continues to explore and study the complex factors that contribute to the good taste of tea, such as tea plants, altitude, soil, climate conditions, as well as craftsmanship. We are faithful to the art of tea processing we inherited, and set the highest standard from carefully selecting the authentic tea leaves to the precision in roasting by our seasoned tea masters. Our unique charcoal roasting technique reveals and further enhances the distinct tea aromas and characters until the best desired quality is achieved.

Wang De Chuan redefines the meaning of premium quality tea. We are pleased to share the virtues of ancient tea culture to the modern world. We value the friendships we make with local and international tea lovers through many cups of our exquisite tea. We proudly present to you our collections of finest tea produced with precise techniques, knowledge, care, and craftsmanship that have been passed down through five generations of our family.
